Features
Ultra High Definition Video Quality
Equipped with the latest Sony Starvis 2 IMX678 Image Sensor, you can record in crystal clear 4K 2160p UHD front and 2K 1440p QHD rear cam footage day or night at 30FPS. The 152° front and 128° rear wide-angle lens minimise blind spots to assure all events are recorded without fail.
4K Image Quality Settings
The greater the amount of data on the image displayed through the screen, the better the image quality. The U3000 provides a clearer image by adjusting the number of bits per second of recorded images stored
*Standard Option – 24Mbps / High Option – 30Mbps
Dynamic 2K at 60FPS
U3000 also supports 2K QHD recording at 60 frames per second.
High frame rate delivers both smoother and sharper image.
Dual Channel
Equipped with an input for a second camera, this can take your surveillance capabilities to the next tier. Just add in the 2K 1440P QHD rear camera to the mix to get peace of mind across the board, as doing so lets you keep an eye on what’s happening behind your vehicle. Available as an optional extra, included in 2 channel kits.
State of the Art Video Enhancements
Wide Dynamic Range (WDR)
Whether you’re driving under bright sunlight, heading out of a tunnel or getting under the shadow of a tall building, among others, its WDR feature helps get you through a sudden change in frontal light exposure levels that yield excessively bright or dark recordings. WDR does this by getting rid of overly bright spots and correcting colour balance to produce nothing but clear images.
Nighttime Picture Quality Correction
Images from videos recorded at nighttime on poorly-lit avenues, streets or roads generally don’t look that lucid. But with this, it’s an entirely different story. It’s armed with enhancement sensors that make brightness, colour and noise cancellation controls possible each time; hence, vivid video recordings of your evening drive.
Automatic Exposure
A sudden rise of light exposure brought about by intense sunlight or headlight beams from oncoming vehicles, or poor lighting in a tunnel may give any ordinary dash cam trouble capturing clear images but not THINKWARE dash cams. They come with an automatic light exposure function that controls light exposure levels for crisp footage at all times.
SUPER NIGHT VISION 4.0
Super Night Vision 4.0 takes advantage of Sony STARVIS 2’s advances in high sensitivity and low noise technology to capture clearer footage in low-light conditions.
Various Autonomous Recording Modes
Continuous
Recording Mode
Automatically activates as soon as the engine starts, this function lets you record videos that are saved in one-minute segments via an auto-looping mechanism.
Event Recording
Mode
Active Impact Monitoring System, made possible by the built-in three-axis G-Sensor, automatically stores video data 10 seconds prior and after a collision.
Manual
Recording Mode
Similar to how a typical video camera works, you use this mode to record events in front of your vehicle, whether or not it’s in motion, as they happen.
Advanced Parking
Surveillance Mode
Paired with a genuine THINKWARE Hard Wire Cable kit (HWC), this can provide full surveillance capabilities whenever your vehicle is parked. It securely stores 20 seconds of footage (10 seconds before/after) once it detects motion or impact.
Audio / Voice
Recording
Not only does it capture vivid videos, but it also records crystal-clear audio. This enables you to enjoy top-tier comprehensive surveillance capabilities to the fullest, too.
Parking Surveillance Mode
With hardwiring installation, enjoy parking protection against potential mishaps and hit-and-runs by capturing footage when an impact or motion is detected (hardwiring cable or OBD-II cable required).
You can tailor the F70PRO’s Parking Surveillance mode to the coverage that best fits your surveillance needs by choosing from Impact/Motion Detection, Time Lapse, or Energy Saving parking modes.
New RADAR Parking Mode with Built-In RADAR
Radar Parking mode is a low-powered recording mode that utilizes the U3000’s built-in radar to monitor motion with minimal power consumption (requires hardwiring or OBD-II cable). This allows for longer buffered parking surveillance so you also have footage of events leading to an incident. When a motion or impact is detected, the U3000 will save a 20-sec video clip (10s before and 10s after the incident has been detected).
Note:
– Parking Surveillance mode requires Hardwiring Cable (professional installation recommended) or OBD-II Power Cable.
– The distance and degree of detection can be different depending on the environment and other factors.
– Not every object is guaranteed to be detected.
– Thinkware CONNECTED features are unavailable in Radar Parking Mode as all network data functions are turned off to reduce power consumption.
Impact and Motion Detection
With Impact and Motion Detection turned on, any potential vandalism attempts and hit-and-run drivers while the car is parked will be caught in the act. In Parking mode, Impact detection captures any impact to the vehicle while Motion Detection captures any movement around the vehicle.
Time Lapse
Time Lapse in Parking mode records footage at 2fps, enabling the dash cam to continuously record long periods of parking surveillance without increasing power consumption.
Energy Saving 2.0
Energy Saving 2.0 in Parking Surveillance mode records footage triggered by impacts only, allowing the dash cam to reduce its power consumption and remain in Parking mode for a longer duration.
Smart Parking Mode
This safety feature prevents heat-related damage by automatically switching the U3000 to a low-power mode if the temperature inside the vehicle gets too high during Parking mode.
In this state, the dash cam records incidents triggered by impacts only until its operating temperature is safe again to resume Motion Detection or Timelapse Parking mode.
Thinkware Connected
Receive impact notifications or monitor remotely what’s happening around your vehicle via your smartphone with the Thinkware CONNECTED app*.
With the U3000 connected to the internet, the dedicated Thinkware CONNECTED app gives you access to the following features…

Quick Downloads via built-in Wi-Fi
Wi-Fi connectivity supports both 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands for the best experience in different environments.
2.4GHz has a longer range and can be captured from a farther distance. The longer range network also captures other devices thus preferred in undisrupted environments.
5GHz has a shorter range and can offer better performance with a higher bandwidth. The shorter range network avoids interferences thus preferred for a less congestive experience within shorter distances.
*Download speed and connection experience can differ according to smartphone specifications and telecommunications conditions.
**5GHz band may be more suitable for cities due to possible disruptions in telecommunications environments.
Advanced Driver Alert System (ADAS)
RCW
Rear Collision Warning System [NEW]
Notifies you of any tailgating vehicles within a distance of 5M to 10M for more than 5 seconds. Automotically saves footage into the event folder. Can be activated from 50km/h.
LDWS
Lane Departure Warning System
Designed for distracted or drowsy drivers, the dash cam will alert you as soon as it senses you’re vehicle leaving the lane while driving at a speed of over 50 kilometres per hour. LDWS alerts you when leaving your lane to help keep any road misfortunes from ruining your trip or compromising you and your passengers’ safety.
FCWS / uFCWS
Forward Collision Warning System
Keep a safe distance from the vehicle you’re following with the help of FCWS / uFCWS. Equipped with a state-of-the-art road safety warning system, it calculates the real-time distance between your vehicle and the vehicle in front of you at a speed of over 30 kilometres per hour (km/h) on highways and under 30 km/h in a busy, congested city. This dash cam issues a three-level early warning to the driver, depending on the danger of the possible collision.
FCDW
Front Vehicle Departure Warning
When stopped at an intersection or a traffic jam, this dash cam’s Front Vehicle Departure Warning (FVDW) intelligent guidance system lets you know when the vehicle in front of you has already started moving, helping you stay attentive each time.
Comprehensive Driving Information with GPS
By adding in a genuine THINKWARE Dash Cam GPS Antenna (GPSANT) to the mix, this can help you keep track of the vehicle’s driving speed and precise location while identifying ideal routes on the map. The GPS also lets you accurately assess the details of the surrounding area and track your holiday routes for faster travels. In case of a road mishap, it supplies accurate readings of vehicle speed, time of the collision and the impact severity.
*GPSANT required, sold separately
Safety Camera Alerts
This comes with various Safety Camera Alert functions aimed at helping drivers abide by traffic rules and regulations to avoid getting ticketed for an infraction. Through the GPSANT add-on, it lets a driver know about a designated average speed zones in a specific area, as it notifies whenever a red light or speed camera is nearby, as well.
*GPSANT required, sold separately
High-Temperature Protection System
Like all THINKWARE dash cams, it has a built-in thermal sensor that protects it from getting hounded by the intense heat. Clad in a specially-designed heat discharge construction, the sensor automatically shuts it down to prevent overheating, allowing the dash cam to thrive even in the harshest Australian weather conditions.
External Battery
Get up to 20 days of Radar Parking mode by pairing the U3000 with the iVolt Max External Battery (sold separately). When connected to the battery, the U3000 will announce important information such as battery charge level and status, and unlock the ‘External Battery Saving’ setting. This feature allows the dash cam to automatically switch to Energy Saving mode and conserve power if the battery level falls below 20%.
